Recycling depot upgrade for rural residents

December 12, 2022

The Te Uku recycling depot is getting a council upgrade but this means it will be CLOSED for works for two weeks from Monday, December 5.

We are asking rural residents to hold on to recyclables for this time, and then come and enjoy the new safer, cleaner, more accessible facilities when council re-opens this space. Please bring pre-paid bags to Xtreme Zero Waste, Okete Rd or Maungatawhiri Rd depots.

Additionally, the Te Mata recycling depot is on the move to a safer location away from the school. This will be available for recyclables this summer. Thanks for your patience.

Some extra good news to share, Xtreme Zero Waste are also starting a pre-paid bags collection on some rural roads. On Monday 12, and every Monday afterwards (incl. public holidays) we will be picking up pre-paid bags from the kerb along Okete Rd, Bridal Creek Rd, Hauroto Bay Rd, Checkley Rd, Matakotea Rd, Wrights Rd & Te Mata Rd (up to and including the village) *The main road cannot be serviced due to the high speed limit* This service is run by Xtreme, NOT part of your rates.

Any questions please call us in the Xtreme office 07 825 6509.
