Local artist Amanda Watson will be giving a slide presentation and talking about the paintings in her upcoming exhibition that have been made in places near Ruapuke, Te Mata, Wainui and other places in the area. She will share about her method of painting, her experiences and stories about being an artist. It will be a sneak preview of the work and her thought processes before the exhibition opens in September.
This Artist Talk is the first of a series of talks that will be given by different Whaingaroa artists on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre. Through this initiative we hope to continue to build deeper connections among artists and people who enjoy the creative process.
The upcoming exhibition is called “Local Geographies” and opens at 4pm, 15th September 2022 at Ramp Gallery, 111 Collingwood Street, Kirikiriroa Hamilton. Entry is free and all are welcome to come and view the work that has direct links to our region. After the opening the exhibition continues until October 7th. Ramp Gallery is free to attend and open to all visitors on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10:00am-2.30pm, or by appointment. Group or school bookings can be made by emailing curator@rampgallery.co.nz A link to the exhibition at Ramp Gallery https://rampgallery.co.nz/exhibitions/local-geographies/
