Rangitahi Centennial Invitational

May 13, 2022

The Raglan Bowling Club held its second Rangitahi Centennial Invitational tournament on Saturday.

Players from other clubs who are great supporters of Raglan Bowls were invited to participate.  A wonderful spread provided by Michelle Mills and Carol Price.

The Rangitahi Trophy pictured above left is made by Simon Te Wheoro and presented annually at the Raglan Bowling Club Centennial Tournament.

The Rangitahi trophy was provided by the Peacocke family and is made from old timber from the old bridge that connected Raglan to the Rangitahi Peninsula.

Each year when the trophy is competed for, the names of the winning, second and third-place teams gets written into the original minute book of the Raglan Bowling Club, dating back to 1921.
