Raglan surfers continue winning streak at Rip Curl Grom Search Taranaki

March 8, 2018

Young Raglan surfers continued their winning streak at the Rip Curl GromSearch held at Back Beach in Taranaki over the weekend.

In the Under 14 boys’ division, Jayden Willoughby secured first place with some impressive surfing and high heat scores. Navryn Malone was placed second.

In the Under 17 boys’ division, Caleb Cutmore defended his title with another win and gained a place to represent New Zealand at the international GromSearch contest to be held in May. Kora Cooper was placed third.

Josef Jungwirth and Brie Bennett both surfed well in their semi-final heats, but didn’t make it through to the finals.

These surfers are all students at Raglan Area School and are members of the Raglan Point Boardriders Club, which is leading the ratings for junior club points.
