New owner for Whaingaroa Physio

January 9, 2020

Whaingaroa Physiotherapy will have a change of ownership from the 1st February 2020, but expect to see a familiar face. Tessa von Huben and partner Tom Cox are very happy to be taking over the busy community practice from Ngareta Melgren and Jason Newton whom established the clinic in 2008.

Tessa worked with Ngareta at Whaingaroa Physiotherapy for five years before taking maternity leave to have their daughter Billie. Since then she has been working from her home-based clinic offering Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and Pilates services.

Tess relocated to Raglan with her family nineteen years ago and Tom was born and raised in Raglan. They both went to school here and have continued their professional work in and around Raglan. They are therefore very excited to be able to offer their services and continue to build on and expand their relationships in the community with this new business venture.

Tess is passionate about whole body health and is involved in other avenues such as teaching mat-based Pilates at The Space, collaborating with her personal trainer sister Sophie at SOFIT studio and covering the odd reformer Pilates class at Lifted. She will continue to offer Mat classes along with both private and ACC supported 1:1 Reformer Pilates rehabilitation.

Tess and Tom are happy to inform the community that the staff will remain familiar with both Otto and Therese continuing their work at the clinic alongside Tess. There will be change of business name to Raglan Physiotherapy, Pilates and Acupuncture reflecting the principle services offered by the team of Physiotherapists.

Ngareta and Jason would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all past and current Whaingaroa Physiotherapy clients, community members and community partners whom have been of support and help over the last 12 years. They believe Tess and Tom are going to continue to grow the clinic and deliver high quality services to the Raglan community into the future. We wish them all the best in their new endeavour.
