Samaritan’s Purse: Send Christmas shoebox gifts to children in need

October 6, 2016

SAMARITAN’S PURSE is a Christian International humanitarian charity of which Operation Christmas Child is a branch. Each year, shoeboxes are filled with gifts. They are collected worldwide and distributed to countries where children are in need (and often to New Zealand specific groups too). Over 100,000,000 boxes have been sent in the past 23 years. In 2015, New Zealand sent 28,000 boxes …what a wonderful record!

Again this year we invite you to be part of this exciting project. You can join with your family, workplace or club, etc, and help bring joy to a child. If the idea of completing a whole box is too daunting, share the items together. The children really love a note from the donor also. The local collection points in Raglan for collecting FREE BOXES are: The Library, Raglan House, Trade Aid shop and local churches. Instructions are enclosed in the boxes.

The deadline for collection is October 29 and any further enquiries please email sharynandbruce@hotmail.com or see
