Raglan is the poster child for the 2016 edition of The Insider’s Guide to New Zealand, published by Life and Leisure Magazine.
The magazine is distributed throughout New Zealand and overseas.
Raglan is one of six places featured in this year’s publication. The others are Gisborne, Wellington, Greymouth to Ross, Mid-Canterbury and Coastal Southland.
The stories focus on people who live and work in Raglan and the things they love about the place where they live. They include business owners, accommodation providers, craftspeople and musicians.
A list of “must-do’ activities in Raglan include: learn to surf, visit Xtreme Zero Waste; meet the artists, and fish from the wharf.
Writer Venetia Sherson says: “Raglan lies between a big-hearted mountain and a fractious ocean bar that tests the toughest boaties. The landmarks reflect the people who live here. Raglan people are warm and generous – unless you want to mine the ocean, put poison in the waterways or bring fast-food outlets into town.”
The magazine is available in bookshops and from Life and Leisure (www.nzlifeandleisure.co.nz).
The Raglan Chronicle has two copies to give away. To be in the draw, send your name and contact details to info@raglanchronicle.co.nz or call us on 07 825 7076.
