Summer Sunday Sessions kick off this weekend

November 17, 2016

We all know summer is on its way when the Raglan Sunday Sessions announces their opening weekend! The weekly festivities are back on starting this Sunday, 20 November.

Since it’s inception in 2010, Raglan Sunday Sessions has brought everything from reggae to hip-hop, funk, global bass, electronica and more to the Yot Club. As one of New Zealand’s most recognised weekly summer events, Sunday Sessions has also become known worldwide. Notorious for hosting international acts and providing an amazing friendly, mini-festival atmosphere. The Sunday Sessions have been rated by artists as “a highlight and best vibe” while touring the country.

Starting out in the Yard at 4:20pm to make the most of the sunshine, grab your mates and the whole family, and head down to enjoy tasty eats and cruisey beats. The early part of the Session is free of charge and is a place for roots, reggae and world music. When the sun goes down and the kiddies go home, the festivities inevitably go up a notch as the musical journey evolves inside the Yot.

Looking ahead to another eventful season of top quality music, Session’s host and promoter, Stephen Reid aka DJ Jamin-I is excited to unveil this year’s lineup.

“Feels like every year just keeps on getting better and better. I’m amazed by the positive response the Sessions are getting both on the musical front and on the positive-high vibe in the yard! People just love it, big smiles all ’round, couldn’t wish for more really!”

This year’s “Special International Guess List” includes big acts such as: Mad Professor, Norman Jay, My Baby, Mark YT, The Nudge and Jenova Collective, with more to be confirmed. Not to forget the finest local and national DJs/Producers and MCs.

This Sunday kicks off with Raglan’s own Jamin-I, Dubsonic and DJ Rayner out in the Yard followed by international star, Berlin’s Madmotormiquel for an exclusive NZ show!

Whether you’re more of an early bird getting out to enjoy the afternoon sun or a night owl heading onto the dance floor. Take advantage of the jams, beats and eats through the summer every Sunday at the Yot Club. Don’t be a stranger, join the good vibes and make the most of your Raglan summer! Free from 4:20pm, cover charge (and R18) after 7pm. Food in the yard, drink specials and more. Follow Raglan Sunday Sessions on Facebook and Instagram for artist announcements, giveaways and more. Catch you in the Yard!
