Raglan Bowls Rangitahi Trophy

April 14, 2023

On Saturday 1 April Raglan bowlers and invited guests enjoyed a mainly fine day of bowls, celebrating, as we do each year, the founding of Raglan Bowling Club in 1921.  Players compete for the Rangitahi Trophy and prize-money kindly donated by Rangitahi Ltd.

The trophy carries some history as it is partly made from wood from the old bridge that used to join Raglan to the Rangitahi Peninsula.

This year’s event was won by Wayne Wenham (Beerescourt), Pim Blair and Sharon Llewellyn (Raglan).  Competing in the event was local Councillor Lisa Thompson (left) who awarded the prizes.
