Shack dinners are renowned for being a great night of food and drinks. We spoke to co-owner Justin about their most recent dinner hosted alongside Matt Dice of Dicey Wines (available at Raglan Wines and Spirits). We chat to Justin to hear all about the night:
How did the wine tasting dinner evening go with Matt Dice of Dicey wines?
Very well, it was nice for us to do something a little different. We love dinners at The Shack, so when Morv approached us about a Dicey X Shack dinner, we were all in. Matt Dicey is a really neat guy, and it was great to hear him talk about where, why and how his wines are made.
What was the format?
We had a few shared plates to start with, a couple of new releases, a chilled gamay and an orange riesling – both were amazing! Then a pinot gris, chardonnay and pinot noir to go with lamb and risotto. It was really easy and casual, kind of like a family dinner, but without having to do the dishes.
What was the feedback like from those who attended?
We are extremely grateful to everyone that supports what we do at The Shack, and the feedback we got for the food and wine was very positive from a mixed bag of locals and travellers – with lots of requests for more dinners…

We love them, and we have a few in the pipeline. We’ll keep you in the loop.
