Dear Editor
It was with great pleasure and pride that I facilitated the ANZAC Day service here in Raglan last week.
It is wonderful to see our community come together in such great numbers to commemorate those who have served their country and those who have sacrificed their lives in that service.
The contribution to the services made by the men and women of the Raglan district has been significant and, over the years, has had considerable impact on the community.
It was wonderful to see so many young people attending the ceremony with their families and heart-warming to see so many families wearing or bearing the medals earned by family members. They are not forgotten.
I would like to particularly commend the Head Boy and Head Girl of Raglan Area School for their contributions which were both personal and heartfelt. They did credit to themselves, their families and their school.
With such great potential future leaders our community is in good hands.
